Summary

The Youth Sports and Recreation subcommittee of Project Unity identified as a top priority replacing the Benjamin Barnes facility and using it to provide life-changing athletic and educational programming for children and families. A site selection committee comprised of representatives from YMCA of Tuscaloosa and the City of Tuscaloosa analyzed a variety of potential site locations for the new branch facility.  The group recommended the site of the existing McDonald Hughes Community Center in West Tuscaloosa. Design of the new facility is currently underway.
