Latest News
Summary
After kicking off a fundraising campaign in 2019, PARA Foundation has constructed the first phase of an all-inclusive playground at Sokol Park. The playground creates opportunities for children and families of varied abilities to engage with each other in play. The social and physical health promoted by the playground is vital to the development of all children.
Elevate Tuscaloosa contributed significantly to this project, alongside other community stakeholders. The playground was designed and is managed by PARA. The location at Sokol Park was chosen because of its central location within Tuscaloosa County. The first phase includes a pavilion with fully accessible restrooms, furnishings, playground equipment, and a seamless surface on the ground.
